Oh today was a “fun” one…
This morning as I packed my lunch I realized I really wanted a piece of chocolate from my Easter loot to have for dessert later. But I could not for hte life of me find the piece I wanted! I ended up emptying the whole bag onto my desk to find 1 small piece of Hershey’s Special Dark.
Once I got to work I had a lot of work to do. The case I’ve been spending the most time on lately is going to court Friday, and another big case was in court today so we had some last minute stuff to take care of. However I had a nice lunch to take a break with!
And my highly sought-after dessert, enjoyed mid-afternoon.
Finally it was time to leave. Since Mona was in court, I left a tad early to take Sophie back home while I went to my first day of nannying. While dropping her off and changing my clothes, I had enough time for a snack…
Seriously you guys, this PB is life changing. And with the apple?? HEAVEN. I realized I called regular PB “Jiffy” in yesterday’s post instead of “Jif” hahahahha. Well this stuff is still better
I picked the kiddos up from school and took them home, where things were going seemingly well… for about 5 minutes. Apparently today was “Let’s test the new babysitter” day and they were testing my limits. Here’s the recap: Screaming; crying; phone calls to mom saying I was the meanest person ever; a suitcase being thrown at me; icing my knee; separate rooms; time out; more tears; apologies; friendship; understanding.
I literally had to ice my knee because a suitcase was hurtled at it by a 9 year old boy. Don’t you worry, they got in major trouble both from me and their mom (who knows their antics). I feel bad for them that they’re going through their parents’ divorce (trust me, that is never easy, and I can’t imagine it at age 9), but still. Bodily harm is NEVER a solution, people!
Oh and did I mention that it was 95* today and we were all also miserably hot because the AC hadn’t been switched on yet?
We had a conference with their mom before I left and I have my hopes up for tomorrow. I think I held my ground well and they understand that I’m the authority and won’t let them walk all over me like they apparently did to their last sitter.
I was craving some chocolate while going through my agonizing babysitting issues, but thankfully had a Kashi bar in my bag
When I did eventually get home I was tired and hungry! I ended up making a “tuna melt” sans tuna (obviously) and a bit weirdly. But it was tasty!

Asparagus; 2 pieces Ezekiel sprouted bread; 1/3 block TJ's 3 grain tempeh, 1/4 cup onion, 1/3 cup reduced-fat cheddar
Satisfying
Now I’m watching “Biggest Loser”, contemplating a beer, and ready to go to bed. My knee is feeling better but I really did not feel like going for a swim post babysitting. Oh well. Another day….
**HUGE congrats to my bff HARRIS who found out today he’s moving to France in the fall to teach English!**
