Today started with a 5:45am wake up call so I could get showered, presentable, packed for the day, and out of the door by 6:40am and to the high school by 7am. Gotta love that. Not.

1 naner; 1 piece toast with 1 egg over-easy
At least I started my day off right with a delicious breakfast (around 6:30am).
I drove out to the high school I was subbing at, freaking out because my GPS wasn’t getting a signal no matter what I did! But thankfully I had looked up directions just in case and they were pretty easy to recall from memory.
I was subbing for a Spanish teacher, which was perfect because that was my major
There were 4 blocks in the day and 1st block was Spanish 5 and they just had a movie to watch. Unfortunately it was “The Never-ending Story” (in Spanish) which, I think, is one of the stupidest movies in existence. Finally after a long, long block watching that, there was a fire drill to spice things up. Then I had to monitor a study-hall for an hour and got 35 minutes to eat lunch after. Oh let’s have a time check for lunch time, shall we?

Lunch at 10am is normal.
I guess it was around 11am when I was in high school, but geez! Fortunately, I was hungry since I had eaten breakfast so obscenely early. It is no wonder teenagers come home from school and devour tons of unhealthy food, they are ravenous from an early lunch and know that dinner is SO far away from lunch time!

1 wedge Laughing Cow Garlic & Herb light on a sandwich thin; leftover Vegetable Barley soup.
The soup definitely thickened up after a couple days in the fridge! But it was still tasty. Then I followed lunch up with dessert

Blueberries and TJ's chocolate covered pomegranate seeds
Then 3rd block rolled around and I started speaking in Spanish and their faces went blank. I looked at the teacher’s lessons plans she had left for me and they said Spanish 4. I wasn’t speaking that fast, but I was concerned so I asked why they didn’t understand. It turns out they were Spanish 1!!! The teacher had probably not been feeling well (I’m guessing that’s why I subbed last-minute) and had confused her A and B days and written lesson plans for another class! But they requested to watch the movie anyways, even though it didn’t have subtitles in English (the movie was dubbed in Spanish, obviously). I went through that torture AGAIN. They didn’t really understand it but got a good laugh out of it.
When they left it was 4th block and my teacher has planning. Technically, even though I had nothing to do, I couldn’t leave until the day was over so I sat at the desk and read. No computer access for substitutes = stupid, by the way. By this point it was getting close to 1pm and I was getting hungry again so eventually I succumbed and pulled out my snack.
Look what I’m re-reading
Finally 2:30pm rolled around and I was released from my duties. Considering the room I spent my day in was FREEZING, it was surprisingly gorgeous outside! Low 70′s, sun shine and blue skies as far as I could see, and a nice breeze. But I had my things packed for a swim, so I reluctantly went back indoors, this time to the Y, and did a leisurely swim of 2500m in 37 minutes. I didn’t plan any sets, I just kind of did whatever I felt like and changed it up whenever I wanted. It was really nice to just swim it straight through with no sets!
Got home and it was dinner time for someone who had been holding my schedule for the day (4:30pm is probably late for dinner if you’re eating lunch at 10am!!!!) so I made a snackie to hold me til dinner later tonight.

1 tbsp natural PB and 1 tbsp apricot preserves on 1 whole wheat matzo; the last of the almond milk
I feel like today is never going to end! I’m going to go unwind and try not to fall asleep before dinner, that way I can get to sleep at a decent hour and make up for my early wakeup call this morning. I’ll be back later, kids!
